We are being inundated with folks, including the NASA observation teams with dozens of scientists, several planatariums from the midwest and abroad, and news people by the boatload. We're hosting a TV network in our Airbnb and putting a trailer in our side yard for their crew. And yes, there is real danger of roads closed, infrastructure collapsing, and law and order breaking down as we watch a surge of perhaps 100,000 people converge on our small town. We are almost alone in not raising our fees on our BNB. I don't like being gouged or gouging.
So, we like our situation inside our fenced 3/4 acre compound in the middle of town where a lot of you folks have camped.
And by the way, in some sort of spooky coincidence, Carbondale will be in the center of the next total eclipse as well. A planetary record?
