There are some really nice used class 8 trucks out there for less than 30k with less than 400k in mileage. The two I'm leaning toward are the International 9200 or 8600 series in single rear axle in either a sleeper cab or without. Our current pickup is a 4 door cab and the back seat is just a "collect all" for stuff anyway. The biggest factor in me going this way is cost! A decent 3/4 ton diesel pickup with low mileage and in "unmolested" form (no stacks through the bed) runs in the 40 to 50k price range. I can get a 2007 International 8600 series with just over 500k miles for less than 20 grand with full service history from Penske.
