I think this post might be appropriate here
I pulled into a state park today, and the attendant lady gasped at my MDT, and she thought I might have trouble fitting in a spot. She asked me to park and wait 20 minutes for another ranger to come by and see what he could do.
I talked with the ranger man who suggested a couple spots close to a parking lot where I'd be parking the truck because he was sure I wouldn't fit both truck and 5er on their asphalt pads. I don't like unhitching, but I reluctantly agreed. I paid, got the paperwork, and entered the CG. In the CG I was totally surprised to see all kinds of big RVs in here.. Class As, long trailers..everything, and many open spots which were plenty big.
I went to the spots the office assigned me, and sure enough they were small and I wouldn't fit. So why did they assign me those? I cruised around and found several other spots, called the office, and sure enough, nothing was reserved. I got a really nice big site, no problem.
The only thing that makes any sense is that somehow my MDT scares them into thinking it's "too big." Very strange.
