Bone up on how gearing works (torque multiplication) and by increasing
the ratio (to a lower gearing...higher numeric) REDUCES the
stresses on the drive train from the engine down to the diff ring
and pinion gear.
It will increase the stresses or potential stresses on the axle to pavement
I'd ask the dealer(s) and rep(s) why they took that position, as it
reduces stresses on the drive train, from engine to ring gear
Also ask why their own specifications for lower diff gears (higher
numeric...also ask them to explain that...lower/high numeric is
opposite to 'high/low'). You would need both the link address and
actual printout
