I had the local 4x4 place put 4.56 gears in my previous truck, up from a 4.10. 940 bucks with warranty. Made a big difference as to how long it would hold 3rd gear, yes 3rd. It was a TH400.
I want to do it in the current truck but have not yet gotten around to it. My trucks are only used for towing are going to the dump, so I only really care about how they tow and not so much about daily livability or gas mileage.
I think 4.56s will hold OD longer with my setup, cheaper than getting a new truck, especially when this one has 32,000 miles on it and it is paid for.
