Anyone considered installing a real door inside?

My DH wanted a door to the bedroom to replace the curtain but we could not fit a one piece door between the needed width when closed and the available space when opened. The door would have blocked needed openings when open. Using 2 thinner doors would have worked but then the wall studding prohibited that. An accordion door is an option, but we find them cheap looking.
