He said he only used it a few times, so I wouldn't call that natural or normal wear. That hitch should last for many years. I'm wondering if it was made with a bad batch of Chinese steel.
I guess this is it?
Says: "Limited lifetime warranty (one-year finish, one-year parts)"
So everything is covered forever except the paint and the parts.......... I guess that just leaves the box it came in.
Instructions
First sentence in the installation instructions:
Keep the socket-mounted ends of the spring bars and
the lock pins in the head assembly free from dirt and well
lubricated. Excessive wear in this area may indicate an
overload or inadequate lubrication.
They know they have a problem.
Chunk it and call it lesson learned. Then get a Reese WD hitch. Mine is 12 years old and has never seen any grease or oil.
