- bighatnohorseExplorer IIThere are attorneys advertising on TV in Arizona that "if you were injured by a vehicle" that was. . . it goes on to list the possible deficiencies that the vehicle might have.
One of the was "being overweight".
Thusly, I know that there are rats out there sniffing around for anything that they can grab onto. Apparently, an overweight vehicle involved in an accident is one identifiable liability. - Kayteg1Explorer IIMost likely it would be fix-it ticket.
At least that what it was when years ago in CA I got pulled over by DOT officer, who check that my 15,000 GVW F450 had registration for 9000lb of its own weight.
Can't tell how original owners managed such registration, but "update" cost me additional $450 weigh fee every year after. - Reality_CheckNomad II

Well..... Anyone ever actually gotten a ticket? .....
lol... I see one question, and no answers related.
No.. Never gotten one.
I've had overweight tickets, but it wasn't with a silly little camper. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the chances of finding someone that has been ticketed is pretty slim. Been reading this forum for a few years plus...and to date, haven't heard of even one actual cite from overweight camper.
There's always a first I'm sure. - K_CharlesExplorerYes about 40 years ago, l was around 105,000 with a tri axle log truck. I couldn't afford the ticket you would get in this day and age.
- BedlamModeratorMy 18" wheels were okay on my F250 when I had my Arctic Fox (7000 lbs on the rear axle). However, once I hitched up my trailer, I had to be really careful how I loaded the camper and the trailer to not be over their limits. That got old really fast trying to keep the axle around 7500 lbs loaded and I went to 19.5's.
My F250 had a 9800 lb GVWR and it was typically at 11,500 lbs with the camper and closer to 12,500 lbs once I switched over to 19.5's and was fully loaded and hitched. - Griffon12ExplorerYeah, I have the silver ones but I would recommend the onyx? color as all those spokes are hard to clean...
- d3500ramExplorer IIIHey, those AEV wheels are pretty sharp! If I keep my camper then I might step up to those. I like that it keeps the stock backspacing but steps up the load rating over stock!
- Griffon12ExplorerNo, I'm running AEV Salta wheels. Really nice backspacing/offset.

Are you running stock Dodge rims? ...and if so where/ how did you find weight ratings for them! I have tried ad-nauseam to find spec but have never found a legit source. Please... inquiring minds want to know.
- Griffon12ExplorerNo, I hadn't even read your post before I wrote that:). Wheels are #3600 and tires are #3650. I'm super anal about not buying **** tires.....I've picked up the pieces a few times with friends running BFG "E"s. Junk
