I live in sometimes semitropical conditions in a Gulf Coast state. I keep the trailer closed with a dehumidifier running all the time. It's amazing how much water it removes from the atmosphere in a closed space.
And yes, the dehumidifier uses a small fraction of power compared with the air conditioner. Since I have power to the trailer at all times, it's the answer for me.
Mold is suspect in some types of cancer and other maladies, so it's not only bad for the trailer. Besides, the dry air makes the interior smell fresh all the time compared to a heavy atmosphere.
