x2, it did. Dropping gears with cruise on tells the engine to speed up. In my experience you should never use cruise on a downhill stretch when the tranny is going to downshift.
You indicate this has never happened before. Maybe you've been lucky.. dunno. Perhaps your owner's manual has something to say about it.
I use cruise on our 2012 6.7 and the tranny will downshift along with the engine brake. I've don't recall seeing it go below 3rd gear tho. Were you using the engine brake at the time?
