Anyone knowledgeable on the Aisin (Ram) 6-speed?

One of my trucks ('08 Sterling 4500) is showing some shifting errors under light to moderate throttle. Heavy throttle it generally shifts fine. Intermittently it will miss the 1->2 shift, and hold 1st...

I see it's a Sterling, but have you taken it in for warranty? The Aisin transmission has a 180k warranty on it. The Aisin automatic has been a very reliable transmission behind the Cummins. There is a Hotshotter on the Diesel Truck Register with over 400k on his, all of it towing a 40' gooseneck in the oilfields.
