- ksssExplorerThe FORD 7.3 Gas is Fords knock off of the GM LS engine line. It certainly has proven an effective design, why fight with an overhead cam, especially for HD use.

You can take the bolts out of the bed and lift the bed for complete access to the fuel pump without dropping the tank. My old 2000 V-10 still runs good at 206,000 miles but thinking about a new 7.3 gas truck. The 6.2 is actually a more advanced engine then the 7.3
I have an appointment at the Ford Dealership to check out my 2003 Ford F250 V10 with 124K one owner miles. It has been a great truck. Just have to find out
why it dies for no reason. Supposedly they have a Tech with 34 yrs experience. For $60 hopefully he can tell me what's wrong. If I cannot get my V10 repaired I will buy the 2020 XLT with the 6.2L for $40K out the door. Nearly everyone I talk to think my problem is the fuel pump which will cost $800 plus
The 6.2 is more advanced in that it is an overhead cam. However, the 7.3 has some improvements in the combustion chamber for more efficient swirling leading to better fuel mixing and improved efficiency. It is also designed for use in medium duty trucks as a diesel alternative and is extremely robust. It was also designed to fit into the E450 leading to getting away from the overhead cam. At the rpms expected in these applications there is little benefit from an overhead cam anyway, just extra expense and bulk. - ACZLExplorerOur school district wants to get several new 65 passenger GAS buses. No specs on them, but I'm willing to bet they are this motor. If it is, they must know something I don't cuz their current fleet (which is a LOT) currently is all diesel.

I nearly bought one two days ago from Elk Grove Ford. The MSRP was $50,480 without the options. I could have bought it for $46,852.38 out the door. My Grand Son is a Homicide Det in Sac Ca and the owner Cole Wood who is the owner of Elk G Ford, sponsors my GS Homicide partner in Race Car. Cole loves Law E and Service People so he more or less sells the cars etc at his costs.
430 HP at 5500 RPM 3,55 axle ratio I decided at my age that I did not need that much truck so decided on a 2020 XLT F250 Ford for $40K OTD
So you bought the 6.2L? - blofgrenExplorer
