I replaced my dual lightfixture that draws 2.4 amps max to a 22 watt florescent light, that provides much more light.
Are you thinking of replacing it with something with a chandelear look? There are 12 volt DC lights for boats that look really nice and will work in a RV as well. But something that is swinging will not work well while driving.
