I found the make and model of my slide awning on the very first wrap right next to the metal. I have removed it completely from over the slide, worked on the slide seals, and replaced it.
I did it myself, but anything longer than a six foot length would definitely need a helper.
Before you begin, take lots of pictures of each end and study the U-Tube videos about it. Springs under tension are dangerous, and you really need to make sure you have the tension locked at each end.
