Solera Awning LED replacement

I've got a 2016 TT with the Solera awning with the LED lights in a track on the side of the camper. After washing the underside of the awning to remove some mold they quit working.

I'm trying to find replacements they aren't crazy expensive, but I'm not sure which ones will fit in the track. I've seen lots that stick on.

I've found ones from Lippert that are $100, but there has to be a cheaper or better solution. If they are going to go out that easy, I'd like cheaper, but it there are some more durable, I'd be willing to pay more.

Thanks!!
  • Maybe one of the connections became loose. Might be able to disconnect, then reconnect. Hopefully as simple as that..
  • Buy weatherproof lights, it might offer a little more protection. Might be why the new strip is $100. There should a place where the 12v. plugs join, near the motor head maybe, top of the awning arm ? Make sure the pos/neg 12v. power coming from the trailer is good.

P.S. i used a weatherproof paint pen to color my lights yellow. A lot less insects enter my trailer now. The paint has lasted this entire season. You can give a second or third coat to make it a little darker/softer.

  • I have not found the reason. When I turn the lights on, the goofy blue lights in the speakers come on, and about every 4th or 5th led lights up dimly. The lights were fine before the washing, and would not work a week later when I tried them.

I spayed the bottom side of the awning with Tilex, rolled it up for an hour, then hosed it down with a normal hose nozzle. I'm assuming the water got somewhere it should not have.

I don't think they will be hard to replace, I think they will just slide out of the track, I've just got to find some that will fit back in.

My wife likes the cute awning lights, but I sure enjoy the convenience of them always being there to turn on when loading or setting up after dark, and being able to roll up the awning for storms without having to take them down.
  • Have you found the cause? I’ve got the same setup and haven’t had that problem.
What method did you use to wash the awning?
I’ve often thought it would probably be a pain to replace the lights if I had to.
