TBN did seem low to me also but they said to go 9K. Not me I will stick with the computer says since it will effect my warranty.
My oil level never increases during changes. Maybe I got a good one!
You are quite lucky indeed. I'm sure your GCW is only helping.
Cummins recommend a TBN of 2.5 min, or 1/2 of starting TBN. Since most oils start above 5 the 1/2 of original is the standard. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

One sample had 7,669 mi and the other 7,423 mi Blackstone suggested I run 9K on the next oil change. TBN was 4.7 and 3.5.
Oil light change was within 2-300 miles of each sample.
I would guess 1/3 of those miles were towing. I use the AMZ/OIL LE 100% synthetic 15-40.
Pretty good! Something sure is eating that TBN thou, it's below what Cummins recommends.
I never was fond of Blackstone, inconsistent answers and you have to pay extra for TBN.

Cards on the table, my truck is stock, and will stay that way. However, if you want to get feedback from people with experience on deletes, go over to a place like cumminsforum. Lots of folks over there with deletes that will tell you that it is the best thing they could have ever done to the truck. - AH64IDExplorer

I have done oil samples on my 11 HO Dually and the fuel dilution is less than .05% could be .001% who knows that is the lowest they figure to next lowest is 0%. Point is drive the pre DEF trucks like a truck and they are fine.
That's quite low for a 07.5-12. Was that when the change oil light came on? Or maybe mostly towing interval?
Normal trucks will see right about 5% when the light comes on.

Is it worth it? lets see you just spent $85k on that new truck and it throws codes and won't idle in the winter constantly going into limp mode plus the remote starter doesn't work if there is a CEL. Sure the dealer will take care of you, but you are an 8 hour one way drive away. Even the undeleteable 2013/14's with DEF can't operate in extreme cold and it's $600 for a DPF cleaning not covered under warranty. If you have a 2012 and down it's worth it.
$85K:E..Not hardly....Have been down to a VERY blustery -8 below zero and no issues with the DEF, truck not being able to idle or going into limp mode..but it's a 13'.....Haven't had a CEL yet and have 19,500miles on my truck with zero issues. I hadn't planned on doing any deletes on my 13', got more than enough HP and TQ and again, no problems with DEF in very cold weather, no CEL's, no issues:)
My kid paid almost $85 for his 2013 without the goose hitch or any racks, communication and safety equipment but that's North of your border, daytime running lights cost a lot..:R It's a good job you have no plans to delete your 2013 because you can't, you are stuck with it at the moment. While the DEF does help it still clogs the DPF and it need to be cleaned every year at a cost of $600 by the dealer but then again -8 is not cold that's spring and fall so you may be ok. Most people that delete are not looking for more power they just want the truck to run properly without throwing a CEL every month. - NinerBikesExplorer

The only reason to do something like that is to buy my last o2 sensor related to it. No more power needed and it is plenty fast enough. I too like the clean burning no smoke part so deleting the dpf is not part of the equation. I know the cooler part, but I don't see how pushing hot, oxygen depleted exhaust back into the engine can be a good thing.
It's not a good thing, but it is what it is these days.
It's oxygen depleted and recirculated for one reason, less oxygen in the compression chamber eliminates the NOx component in the exhaust stream, one of the pollutants emitted out the tail pipe. Less NOx means less Ozone in lower layers of the atmosphere. Lowering the effective compression ratio by having a flapper to regulate air input on a diesel engine also lowers the effective burn temperature.
