If your paranoid enough to be considering a bed saver you are likely careful enough that you don't need one.
There are several reasons a 5th wheel trailer can drop on a trucks bed other than being careless or paranoid during the hitching/unhitching process.
Operators error during hookup as most rv folks think.....is just one of them.
The Bedsaver or other pin catch safety devices go a long way in eliminating all those reasons.

The Bedsaver topic is always a hot topic. It seems to bring out rude remarks...brand bashing from some folks.

"I think all that is pertinent has probably been said...if you want a device to prevent an accidental mishap to your truck bed, there a numerous devices out there and several different engineering methods to achieve that goal, or as one poster has done, build one of your own design. If you feel the need or simply want such a device as "insurance" or "peace of mind", pick one. If you don't feel the need for such a device or don't want the added complexity and cost, no one is going to think badly of you for your decision."
IMO very wise statement.
