Anyone use a stovetop without a range hood?

Our TT doesn't have a range hood, I've set off the smoke detector boiling water for coffee/tea. Added a fantastic fan and remember to open the sink window seems to have solved that. I wouldn't want my trailer smelling too good, bear might decide it's the largest cooler ever and tear in for a snack.
