- falconmanExplorerI installed one on our TT several years ago and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Just be sure that the equalizers are the same height, there are a few options. If you have the tall equalizer as I did and you use a shorter one you will lose wheelwell clearance.
- DrbolaskyExplorerI bought the EZ-Flex with the intention of installing it myself but wound up having my dealer do the install. The difference in how the trailer rides (feels to me as I'm pulling it, that is) is night and day. Really smooths out the bumps from potholes and control joints; less jolting transmitted to the TV. Dishes and utensils in the galley stay where I put them. Worth every penny.
- bobndotExplorer IIThings that I would question only because I don't know the answer.
Is it worth it to swap out an EQ. suspension from one brand to another.......
on a non slide TT with 3500# axles ? Things that work or been tested on a HD axle might not have as much affect on a light weight axle.
Would a set of shocks be a better option coupled with the OEM Mor-Ryde that you already have ? IT might be money better spent.
If you do this and the new unit has grease fittings, make sure they installed on the inside , otherwise you might have to remove tires to grease it.
I was told to use bronze parts if that option is offered.
(I meant to type bronze instead of brass, thank you rhagfo) - BarneySExplorer IIIEZ Flex installation thread that is stuck at the top of this forum. :B
Barney - myredracerExplorer IIWe have the Dexter E-Z Flex. Installation is E-Z peasey. Good sticky on this forum somewhere. Best one out there IMO. We replaced our Trailair equalizer as soon as we got our new TT with the Dexter setup.
- snowedinExplorerYes, they help cushion the ride somewhat. Was glad I did it and the cost is minimal compared to the benefit. I had installed the kit on a KZ Coyote CL180 that only weighed 3850 lbs empty but the clothes on hangars were always bouncing off the clothes bar and we had to tie the cabinet doors shut to prevent things flying out unto the floor. Can't say that it eliminated all of that but it did help. I had a bushing driver kit which helped in driving the new bronze bushings in without damaging them. If I had to do it over knowing what I know now, Yes I would do it again. Only problem is that I now have a different camper and they do not sell a kit that will fit.
- HuntindogExplorerLippert makes a similar product, the "Equa Flex", also known as the Trail air.
I have it and like it a lot.
I also had the Dexter bronze bushing on my previous TT. and was not overly impressed.
I had too much wear on them. I think it was because my use includes many miles of dusty dirt roads on most trips.. I think the dust mixed withthe grease making an abrasive mix... I would have had to grease them way more than I am willing to prevent this.
I just installed the Lippert never lube bushings on my present TT.
This should solve my dust attraction problem. I have read some good reports on them from users... I will post up my results in a few years - grampscamperExplorerYes. I would agree with others. It works great and is fairly easy to install. I assume you will order it with brass bushings and wet bolts. It will ride much better and will be quieter when backing up.
- dodge_guyExplorer IIWell worth the time and money. I can honestly say that I barely feel the trailer go over the expansion joints in the highway. It really tames down the jarring suspension movements.
And wait till you see how much beefier the Dexter shackles are compared to the thin shackles the factory privided. I found almost all of my suspension loose/worn out. - NJ6PACKExplorerThere is a lengthy discussion on this site ....follow that and you'll be fine....definitely worth the investment
