Good tip abut the mosquito treatment spray. Just ordered some. We've got a week in Scotland with the camper soon and will be battling the infamous swarms of Scottish Midges (which are small enough to get through the coarse mosquito netting in the camper).
Re. the hatch - Bob has a point - it could open you up a whole world of tricking up your RV in a yachty style (actually, I bought my Waeco compressor fridge from a yacht chandlers as they were selling them for marine use). So time to get on those deck shoes and the blue and white stripy clothing. Now who has that picture of the nautical style truck camper we've seen on here a couple of times?
