Hi Ya Silver,
We have had some experience with yacht quality hatches, 23 years of living aboard and many delivery and charter forays. We never had any hatches that were bug-proof. The forward (escape) hatch on our 2005 Lance 1121 has been trouble-free so far, with a good screening system. Cost wise we could buy three of these hatches for the price of one quality marine hatch. Undoing the needed vecro screens which we had on "Imagine" was a tedious exercise, often overlooked, to the glee of the skeeters, when we were coasting.
