Do you mean those high quality marine hatches, I've resealed 3 times in the last 7 years on the boat? Where as my dad's rough around the edges 30yr old trailer hatches have never leaked?
I'm not sure how they would mate up with a rubber roof. Does 5200 bond to rubber roofing?
And I dare you to go find a friend with a boat walk over and stand on his hatch. Ocean going and you can stand on it are not the same thing. The vast majority should not be walked on.
As others have mentioned, far less convienent to use. Rather than a couple turns on a crank: You unlatch the screen, find somewhere to set it, undo the latches, push up, most have locking arms you need to set, then you find the screen, hold it in place while doing the latches.
Are you having problems with the standard ones?
