Wagon, Seaboard is a great product heavy but very durable. In the marine industry of which I am very familiar no one will use a sealant on it as it will not stick for very long. It is to be mechanically fastened (screws, botls) or heat welded actually melts the bits together. Any plastic fab shop will verify this.
Now if you have had success in sealing then more power to you. I feel that you are very lucky. I would really like to see pictures and what sealnt did you use, and how is it secured in toality, screwed down, botl thru...Pls supply more details. I am truly in awe if you have it working. THX for your input.
Everyone seals lots of plastics like water fill doors etc. Some want silicone to not affect the plastic with solvent base. I have sealed the more difficult UHMW and other 'soapier' plastics using the putty tape bytle rubber and mechanical squishing of the sealant. Another way is to use 5200 with mech fasteners, don't tighten all the way wait for the polyeurethane to form an 'o' ring then tighten down later.
