Anyone used ocean-rated yacht hatches: replace the RV scrap?

Has anyone here ever replaced the typical plastic RV scrap roof vents with a real ocean-rated yacht hatch? Obviously, the cut-out size would vary to some degree (but this could easily be remediated...

I installed a Vetus hatch in my 1161 while I was doing the rebuild. So far it is great.

No struts, it stays where you put it.





I changed out some RV style hatches for marine grade gasket sealed positive closing access hatches. These are Beckson I have the locks on the way.





They are working out well.
