I'm glad I can put 15/40 Rotella in the crank case and after 10K change it. My Duramax always starts up and runs clean and never misses in cold weather or hot weather or any weather.
I guess I'm lucky because I don't need additives.
Duramax diesels have issues as well. Not to start a flame war but I won't have one because it's in a Government Motors vehicle. Besides, when I purchased my '97 in '97, the Duramax wasn't around.
My turbo seems happier too... She's whistling constantly now...
What issues? Are you talking about the injector ball erosion issues? If so you can put as many snakes you want in your oil and it won't help. Bosch screwed the pooch on that deal. The injectors were a junk design and GM and Bosch knew it. GM stepped up and up'ed the warrantee time frame for free replacement. If you're talking about other issues what issues?
No comment. One it's not pertinent to my original comments (I'm the OP on this thread) and two, I don't really care, I have a PSD not an Isusu Duramax.
The thread is about injector stiction issues and how they are impacted by additives.
I would appreciate it if you kept your comments on subject. Thank you in advance.
