I was skeptical about that and honed in on aluminum frame for our first camper, AF860.
It was fine. Next camper was a wood frame 03 model 860. Honestly I can't tell a bit of dofference and neither can the truck.
I don't think it helps with weight much of any and I've had the old wood camper through some ripping head winds and it's still fine.
Other than rot, which is almost as big a concern with an Al frame, for me there was no discernable advantage.
I'd still prefer Al over wood, but guessing only in theory.
Your dually will haul any 1150 with ease, but you stil may want to add air bags, stable loads and/or a sway bar. Just how it is. No different with any other 1ton dually.
