I can't say for sure, but I'd bet the brakes are the same.
The rear springs are different though as you mentioned.
In the previous gen Rams, the ONLY difference between a diesel 2500 and a diesel 3500 SRW was the rear springs.
I can take that one better my 2001 has 16" wheels, when they went to the 3rd gens, they went to 17" rims, at a reduction of 220# of capacity per tire!
In addition Ram never changed the VIN sticker ratings when a Camper Package was added (larger tires 373# ea. more capacity, or the 3500 springs.). My rear axle is rated at the combined weight of the stock tires, not the combined weight of the package tires.
