The bottom line is the GVWR is just a number on the door sticker. The OEM doesn't care how much you load your truck. If you break it they can tell if it was abused and will deny warranty.
I don't care how much you load your truck as long as you are capable of keeping it in your lane and can stop it without ploughing into the back of others.
Only the licensing / weights and measures departments care how much you load your truck. If you have more on it than you paid for you may get in trouble.
That's my opinion, anyway.
