I applaud your effort but it changes nothing
How is it speculation? The "individual specs" of what each component can handle is right there. It is not speculation that these trucks share these parts because I know that as a fact.
Here is the most that we know each part of the 2500 CTD can handle
Frame - 11,700 GVWR in a 7,725 lb truck with a 3,980 lb payload rating
Brakes - 11,700 GVWR in a 7,725 lb truck with a 3,980 lb payload rating
Transmission - 11,700 GVWR in a 7,725 lb truck with a 3,980 lb payload rating
Driveline - 11,700 GVWR in a 7,725 lb truck with a 3,980 lb payload rating
Tires - 11,700 GVWR in a 7,725 lb truck with a 3,980 lb payload rating
Front axle - 6,000 GAWR in a truck with 4,755 lbs front weight along with a 3,980 lb payload rating
Front suspension - 4,755 lbs front weight in a truck with a 3,980 lb payload rating
Rear axle - 7000 GAWR in a truck with 2,970 lbs rear weight along with 3,980 lb payload rating
Rear suspension - 2,911 lb rear truck weight in a truck with a 3,150 lb payload rating
So which is the weakest link?
BTW, just in case some do not know. The GAWR is limited by the weakest link in the axle system which also includes the suspension and the tires.
