My Dodge has been over 1000,000 miles on oil changes and one water pump, and two sets of tires, in eight years. That works out to about $500.00 per year, not $50000.00
My brother in laws Dodge has now over 500,000 miles on the Cummings. As he is a heavy duty diesel mechanic,I don't know his costs. His truck was the reason I bought mine. Used to be a Chevy guy.
If a dealer tried to lay that on me I would run, and run away fast. He is either misinformed or a bold faced liar.
