Are slides safe to use in the closed position?

I'm still confused.... I can see shimming it up while it is closed, But Why would ithe floor not be as strong in the fully closed position as it it is in the fully open position?


I have 2 boys who loved to jump up and down . One was jumping on the queen bed and rapped his head on the cabinet . That basically cured the jumping in the camper
