Are there any mfrs with bad overall reputations?

You will not get a definitive answer. I think at one time or the other there have been rants about the quality of most every brand with any significant number of rigs on the road. The problem is that there is no way to compare that to the vastly higher number of satisfied owners who do not post about their satisfaction with those same rigs.
