Are there "good" clip on mirrors?

:) Hi, I have the CIPA slip on mirrors and they work OK. I tried McKesh and they wouldn't fit my doors without too much pressure on the door and the glass. I would use my year of vehicle F-150 towing mirrors if they made them in 2000, but they don't. In your case I would only buy the factory tow mirrors and be done with it. Wish I had that choice too, but I don't.

I bought "slide over" mirrors for my f-150 from camping world...cost was about $35 a piece...they look like they belong, no straps, no awkward looking-aftermarket jumbo mirrors. I have a 31' Laredo and these were a great peace of mind. I could see vehicles behind me and I could tell when I was past a car when passing. I really did not mirrors that looked awkward and bulky. We just came back from a 2500 mile trip and I was very pleased!

I normally put a napkin or tissue over the top before sliding them on because some people have complained about them leaving scratches. I personally have never had that problem. When they are on I can see all the way down both sides of the trailer when driving straight. I feel they are more than adequate. They also don't interfere with the integrated blinker or heater.

I used a CIPA brand on my old '97 F250, while "slip on" type mirrors do "improve" your vision I was very disappointed in the #1 vibration, #2 pain in the rear to install and remove (the "clamping system" was a pain to deal with), #3 the cost.

#1 The vibration made looking at the added mirrors a challenge at times. Didn't realize how bad it was until I bought a new truck with REAL extendable towing mirrors, no more vibration.

#2 The clamping system just was not easy to install nor remove, while perhaps makes the extensions hard to fall off, I certainly did not look forward to installing or removing them..

#3 The cost, well paid $80 plus shipping certainly won't break the bank but if you can buy Aftermarket REAL towing mirrors you will be money ahead. When I traded my '97 in I should have just tossed those extensions in the truck. Could not find anyone who wanted them even for free, ended up giving them to Goodwill.. They probably tossed them in the dumpster.

I have these K-Source and like them more than the CIPA I had prior. But OEM clones with Power/heat for under $200 and power/heat/signal for $250 are far, far better than any clip on. Convex mirror, larger mirror, and stick out aobut 5" farther than anything except maybe the McKesh.

I bought the ones Zen has pictured above.came with proper clip and were plug and play, keeping my power adjustment and heated function. No vibration at all since they mount just like the original mirrors. Biggest deciding factor for me was I wanted the larger mirrors, better visability they provided. Being split mirrors (top and bottom) give me one to point towards next lane for easy view to see if I have a car in the no longer a blind spot to change lanes. Plus look factory stock. Worth the difference in price for me.

X2 on the Grand Aero towing mirrors. I have tried them all, and they are the best.

Although I haven't used them yet on an actual trip, I opted for the McKesh mirrors (Hensley Mfg)and put them on my truck just to look, and they look like they'll fill the bill. I really like that they can extend pretty far out and have optional convex mirrors to go beside.

I was actually thinking of combining this with installation of a camera in the back of the trailer to be able to see all the way around. I don't really need it for backing up (although it would probably help) but I especially want to see traffic behind me.

K-Source, without a doubt. No vibration, easy on easy off. I've had two sets (different trucks) Snap on, match the appearance of stock mirrors allowing for reflectors and blinkers.
