What gets me is when the dealers website's doesn't list the specs such as axle ratios, gvwr, payload, what length bed, etc.
Because people that want to know that info are in the minority. The majority of people that buy these trucks don't care. They buy a Chevy/Ford/Ram because they have always bought a Chevy/Ford/Dodge. They don't really care about the details.
Personally I make it a habit to know more about the truck than the dealer. Its usually not very hard. I research all my options and narrow it down from there. I know the truck inside and out. I know the options, I know the prices, I know the specs. When I have decided what truck I want... THAT is when I start talking to dealers. Even then, I try not to talk to them. I prefer the fleet manager through email. I don't need any games or hard sell tactics. I know what I want, I am just concerned with the best price for the truck I want. I couldn't care less if the guy selling it to me knows anything about it... his only input to me is bottom line price.
