  • We stay at one campground now, so we sold our Sunline TT and purchased a destination trailer. We do not stay at the campground in the winter as it closes in October, but for five beautiful months of the year we are living comfortable in our Cedar Creek Cottage. We have a screen room, our own rather large deck and our own dock on the lake. What I love about our "camper" is that we have had 12 people in it for a whole day and we had so much room. We never could have done that with our Sunline. Also we selected our floor plan to optimize the views on our site. My advice is to really figure out how you want to live at that location, then once you have a site picked out,,,go look at all of the RVs pick one that you love on that site. Good luck to you.
  • Sorry about the caps, an old habit.

I think it will help with the cold weather.

There are many fine retirement RV communities out there.I need one within 50 (prefer <20) miles of CLEMSON SC, so I can be near my 85 yr old in-laws.

I’m looking for a full time (permanent/Deeded?) location on or near a lake, where I can garden and do golfing nearby.

These are new units, but used ok if in good condition.

Thank You for your very specific replies,

All of them if it is never moved. The destination trailers would be great for one place..Set them up like a mobile home and put down a barrier under the trailer and skirt it.Insulate the skirting if your in a really cold climate.

I could live in one place in any you mentioned here in Idaho and have in less, year around..It's not near as bad as some say if done properly.
  • There is no ONE RV for full timing. It is up to you which one suits your needs.

"Full Time" RV'ers travel with their RV's and follow the sun and do not stay in states that have a cold winter.

No RV is 'set up' for winter. If you are planning on 'living' in this RV in a cold weather state you will freeze to death. Not to mention CG's turn off the water in winter. You need to do more research on where you will be living in this RV during the winter months.

Perhaps buying a double wide trailer in a mobile home park might be a better idea. You will have water sewer and insulated trailer meant for year around living.
  • You're biggest problem with trying to find a year round unit is finding one capable of cold weather in the winter. How cold is it where you plan to have it set up?

    Bill
  • Yes, please turn off the caps as it's considered yelling and rude.
    Good luck.
    Scott
  • Why are you yelling?

    Turn off CAPS...... :B

Are these New or Used Destination trailers?

Where will they be set up.....hot/cold weather?

Folks have full timed in just about every type of RV made.
