Are you happy with your Oregon-built Keystone Trailer?

I just cancelled my new Toy Hauler order because Eclipse can't keep a schedule.

Now I may just go with an TT, but I will only consider one built locally (OR/WA). My first choice is Arctic Fox, however inventory is limited right now. I may also consider Keystone.

If you have a Keystone built at the Oregon plant, are you happy with the quality? I'm specifically interested in the chassis / structure / body etc... the stuff that is Keystone specific (i.e. not appliances, unless it was an installation problem). If you did have problems, were you able to get adequate warranty support?

I'm also open to other suggestions. Other criteria include a bunkhouse slide-out, outside kitchen, and fiberglass front cap. An island kitchen is preferred. I'm not at all concerned about overall size or weight.

Thanks!
  • Our 03 Keystone has been taken to the dealer for repairs once a few years ago. We use it 80-100 nights a year. We camped in the snow during the winter and 112 degrees during the summer. We were warm enough during the winter and cool enough during the summer. We were in the shade which I am sure makes a differnece.
Dealer repair was less than $200.
This did not show up so I will send again which of course means it will show up twice.

  • A friend has a Wind River from Outdoors RV and likes it. We've had several Komforts and wish they were still an Oregom Product. BTW, we are almost neighbors. Good luck in your search.
  • have seen them build all those TT's. some are built better than other even in the same plant. I like the metal frame over the wooden frame, you get less weight to pull and if you want you can add more accessories like 4 season insulation and , well you know. the north woods corp models are built in La Grande and Pendleton OR plants and the keystone are made in Pendleton, OR
  • I have a 2002 Komfort , ordered new .
    Built in Clackamas .
    My 4th RV .
Very well built and troublefree .
Not as well hyped as the Arctic Fox .
But every bit an equal .
I shopped and researched a very long time while owning an RV .
It came down to Arctic Fox and Komfort .
Either is a good choice .
I got the best deal by shopping a factory order with 5 Komfort dealers .
My local dealer met the lowest price for the identical trailer .
I ordered in late April and picked it up in mid June of 2001 .
The trailer was registered as an 2002 model .
There has been no reason for me to move on .
The Komfort is a little heavier and I use a duramax to tow it with .
  • Article Fox, Nash and Snowriver are all northwoods mfg, and then there is also OutdoorRv as well. Happy hunting
