Atlanta holiday weekend traffic
Any of y'all pulled through ATL on a holiday weekend? If so just how bad as it? I am an hour north but avoid it like the plague and really can't remember the last time I went through downtown.

I have given up on Atlanta almost at anytime. If its not traffic, the road surface conditions (I-285 especially) are horrible. There can me bad traffic at times on Holiday weekends.
Not sure of your direction or destination
To move around Atlanta headed south I am off I-75 at Calhoun,take 53 to Rome (using GA 1 Rome bypass), Then US 27 south to LaGrange, then I-185 to Columbus, then the 520 from Ft Benning to Tifton (or continue on US 27 south to Tallahassee) depending on destination.
Its all 4 lane- no traffic to speak of- a few stop lights scattered here and there and most speeds above 55.
When I travel that route between LaGrange and Calhoun I can do it in the same time as around 285 and its very relaxing.
