funny to see this post...just 2 weeks ago we were on a 10 day road trip which included Friday night (about 9pm) driving through Atlanta I-85 down to La Grange.
course rush hour traffic was long gone, and I've commuted to Atlanta for business many years..so in a car i'm right there with the crazies..but pulling a big box behind me .. I was surprised how tense i got for a short bit as friday night party goers were playing mariokart behind the real wheel..and there's a tad bit of road where the lanes are narrow and while i stay in the lines, not all other drivers do... I was relieved to be on the other side of that bit of road.
my memorial holiday weekend is always spent working...I own a biz that serves the concert music industry so we have festivals, nascar, theme park concerts, etc...this is always slammin busy for us...but i can't imagine traveling for pleasure on this weekend...unless you can leave before everyone breaks from their desks and rushes out...get in place ahead of the herd and then it can be fun...but i avoid boating on the lake, camping, driving if possible..just kinda takes the fun out of it when i have to loose my religion just driving to he destination (lol)
