Atwood 8525 loud when in use should I replace

I have a 2003 coach with a atwood 8525 heater in the living room and a 8520 in the bathroom bedroom area, both are very loud when in use.
the one in the living area sequels and roars making it hard to sleep. the one in the bathroom is a little quieter but still loud. I can replace the motor but am afraid this won't solve the problem. I am currently running a extension cord from outside to run an electric heater but its not doing a good job when the temps fall to 32 degrees at night. How can can i get warm without a lot of trouble or expense.
thanks
  • thanks for the reply and sorry for posting in the wrong area I have moved the tread
  • Replacing motor and fan wheel in the 8525 will take care of the squeal but the roar is due to burner and air flow design that created an obstruction...hence the noise.
    Same with the 8520

NEW 8500 Series have been redesigned with a new burner and blower assembly. The new design has eliminated the obstruction and minimized the turbulence in the blower housing resulting in lowering overall noise and an increase in the airflow.

If you do the R&R yourself you can purchase NEW 8520 IV for under $500/ea

    Motor alone would be $100
    Blower wheel roughly $25
  • You could always go to a RV dealer or visit some of your neighbors to see how loud theirs are. BTW, you seemed to post in the wrong forum. I'm assuming you don't have a truck campers since you are talking about your "two" furnaces. :)
