Aux. Fuel Tank

I have a 2017 Ram 3500 Tradesman with 4wd and 6.7 Cummins Turbo. My fuel tank is I think 32 gals. My guess is when towing, I will have to stop for fuel EVERY day. I could live with every day and a half or even better, every other day while averaging 350 miles per day.
Do any of you have Aux fuel tanks or been thinking about getting one?

Does anyone have suggestions for auxiliary takes for gassers? I've been told there are a lot of options for diesel rigs, but none for gassers. I didn't like the one a local after market dealer recommended because it was a transfer system and would not integrate with the trucks fuel system. He said gas auxiliary tanks can't integrate because they aren't approved because of fuel transportation safety regulations.

With the volatility of gas you're pretty much limited to transfer tanks for in bed gas applications. Check out the link below for Titan. They do make replacement tanks that will give you much more capacity than stock.

  • We had our55gal inbed tank built at the KSH factory in Lake havasu Az in 06. Really like what It does for us. Our truck is a towing only so the inbed tank might not work for others.

  • I bought a used one and never got around to hooking it up so it is sitting in my shop taking up space. There have been a few times when I have filled up twice in one day and it would have been nice to have a little more fuel but I don't mind once a day.
  • Yes, have a 110 gal tank. I made it last summer from Anchorage, AK to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho without stopping for fuel. I wasn't towing, but did have 2,000# in the truck bed.

Yes, get a tank. Along with Gas Buddy to avoid the truck stops and states with high fuel taxes, you'll save lots of money.
