It's not that bad if you never get off the interstate, or if you're fairly short. When you get on the 2-lane roads, small town fuel stations can be a bit of a hassle getting into and out of.
After a couple times of backing out of someplace that I had a problem with, I decided that life is too short, and auxiliary tanks are too cheap, to put up with that kind of aggravation.
