Yep pulled this one out of the archives.....
There are 2 types of people when it comes to this issue.
Type 1 have more $ then sense, "like" to stop every couple hundred miles or sooner when on a road trip, apparently like truck stops and aren't in a hurry.
Type 2 get in, mash the skinny pedal and would rather make time and have the opportunity to save $ on fuel.
Ford, God bless em, finally got it kinda right with their new 48 gal fuel tanks, but if a person is more interested in "getting there" or going somewhere other than gas stations, aux tanks make all the sense in the world.
I find these little truck tanks to be soooo annoying.
1. In my company truck, not only does it cost me a daily gas stop some days. I run through 3-4 tanks a week, it cost me time to code each expense receipt.
2. On the road, if with a gasser and a load, a person almost can't pass a gas station. If with a diesel, it still could be 2-3 fill ups a day if you're making miles.
3. Talking about fuel points and taking on 100gal is stupid. Idk where you can get more than 1 cc limit of fuel with the discount, but you can at least buy cheaper fuel when it's available.
4. Having 35 gal tanks in a diesel pickup would be like only having 60-70 gal in a semi.
Time = money and if I could fit an aux tank in any of my trucks it would already be there.
