That's all well and good but it's not a daily driver. Too loud. Too rough riding. 10 MPG going downhill with a tailwind.
Plus it would not last a winter on the salt roads. By the next spring it would be a rusted out carbuncle.
Ok, it's an old truck and you want a new one.
But too loud? Put a quieter muffler on it. They had a little rumble right from the factory.
Too rough? A GMT 800 doesn't ride any rougher than any new HD pickup. Actually they're about the softest out there.
Mileage? You'll average 10 mpg vs 13 running around town. As soon as you hook a trailer, the difference will be negligible.
Nickel and dime? Literally. It only has 50k miles...
Never seen a salt winter, but won't make it a year without rusting through? Doesn't compute.
Aside from fuel mileage driving empty and a bit more power out of the new trucks, yours doesn't give up much to the new trucks. I'm all about new, nice, etc, but call it what it is, you want a new truck, the old one aint bad.
How much you want for the old one? CC, 4wd?
