I have seen clips to hold the lites, but since the awing rolls around the bar, dont you have to take the clips off to close the awning? What do you do in the event you need to close up in a hurry due to a storm. Any recommendations on clips?

I do take the clips off the awning channel, if it looks like I'll need to take the awning in. The clips I got were from WalMart, just a little plastic t-shaped thingy that slips in the channel, has a hole for the s-hook to hold the lights. My lights, non-LED, are sort of a retro 50s look, with flamingos and little rounded trailers. Those little t-shaped thingies slip right out real easy, so it's never been a problem taking the awning in.
