Awning needs a good cleaning

Hello,

We just purchased a 2006 Jayco Jayflight 25' Travel Trailer and the awning needs cleaning.

I am planning on doing that this weekend.

The condition is good with no rips or tears. Its a manual awning and the frame is solid.

Can I use Dawn dish detergent with a long handled scribe brush?

Is power washing it OK?

I will do both top and under side and let it dry before rolling it back up.

All input is greatly appreciated.

  • Pressure washers and travel trailers are worst enemies....suggest you don't even let them near each other.
  • Don't use a pressure washer! The above suggestions are great, but I use a soft brush and clorox cleanup spray.
  • My family and I just acquired a used HTT and when I cleaned the awning, I used a Mr Clean Magic Eraser for the stains that didn't come off with the soap and a brush. Worked like a champ; no more stains!

Dawn is fine, and typically they will have some mildew. If so, add a little bleach to the Dawn. Works great.
