Awning rail insert

On the road and back side of my trailer I have a rain gutters with extensions, on the curb side I have an awning rail front to back. My trailer is 24' long but with only a 14' awning. The 5' in front and to the rear of the awning is just open track where I get terrible black streaks. Has anyone ever tried anything similar to this or have another solution?
