What about getting it stopped, what is the GVW for that truck and still meet some kind of stopping spec. Where do you find that info??
Maybe that has something to do with the low GVWR?
The OP question of why they did it is a good one, it only happens in these light trucks, on heavy trucks if you look at the GVWR it will match the GAWR of the front and rear axles.
eg, 12,000 pound front
40,000 on the 2 rears
The tag will then read 52,000 GVWR...
