No that's not the case. F250s have 2 GVWRs, 10,000 and 9900lbs and they have nothing to do with the camper package. I have the camper package and my GVWR is 9900lbs.
Payload is calculated GVWR less curb weight.
Actually, if any thing, the camper package will decrease the payload by approx 38lbs as a result of the weight of the overload springs and rear sway bar.
Spud is correct, the numbers will not change. The capability will change, similar to the 350. With the diesel, I'd get the 350, if buying the Ford. However, not what OP wants.
