I too was in this position last year and went with the Ford. A lot of people have already mentioned the pros and cons but for Ford I had a few more pros not mentioned. First, Ford offers a 3.55 electronic locking axle over Ram's 3.42 limited slip. Second, I like the gear ratios of the Ford 6R140 vs. the 68RFE. Finally, the Ford offers the door pad for entry without keys which I use daily for work. My previous truck was a Dodge Ram 2500 with the Cummins which made this decision tough.
Another personal reason why I went with the Ford was political. I really appreciate Ford not taking a bailout in 2008/09. For that reason I try to support Ford when possible. Saying that, I don't blame Chrysler for their bailout as much as I blame GM. Chrysler was depleted by Daimler and its new investors (Cerberus) couldn't maintain the company in combination with the market melt down. GM however allowed itself to get rundown. I know I just started WWIII but that's just my opinion.
