Lol and you didn't need a HD when you got your tundra prolly!
You know you asked this question because no one started a Ramvs Ford thread today.....
Drivetrain preference aside, current gen Pwerstrokes will hold their value alright even though the new model is coming out....because it's going to be even more expensive, making $50k used powerstrokes look like a bargain.
I'm all for keeping things simple and usually buy older proven tech in vehicles vs the newest release but assuming the new HD fords will be significantly improved, I couldn't see buying the old style truck brand new unless with a serious discount.
Well you are correct. I had a popup when I bought my Tundra. However, I just upgraded camper last year and I seem to be on 6 year cycles of vehicles and campers. I will likely be in a new vehicle by the time I upgrade the camper again. I have a feeling the next generation of all three will be awesome and even harder to choose.
If you go FORD I would wait for the 2017. If your going to spend the money you might was well get the newest model available. GM will have their new Dmax out as well in '17 so 2 out of 3 will see significant upgrades in '17 which should start this Summer if they are on time. I think the FORD SD is going to be an impressive truck, I don't think they look that great but I think the content will be impressive.
As to 250 verse 350, maybe at the weight your planning on towing in the time you will own this new truck you don't need the capacity. The saying (which I know is probably getting old)has a place here, a LOT can always do a LITTLE, but a LITTLE can never do a LOT. You lose nothing by going bigger if a 350 were found you liked, the ride is much the same since it is typically overloads that get you the extra capacity. Good luck in choice, always fun buying a new pickup.
